Friday, April 28th – The Variety Show!

Heavy Metal Juggling? Synchronized Dance Moves? Performances to amaze one and all!

The Annual Variety Show is starting off May Day weekend with an opportunity to strut your stuff on stage, volunteer to help make it happen, or just come by and enjoy the show! Performances are 5 minutes or less.

Doors open at 7pm, Show starts at 8pm.

460 Melwood (around back)

Bring your beautiful self and your loved ones, and maybe a blanket or chair. Children welcome and encouraged.

There is limited parking on the street in front of 460 Melwood and no parking available behind the building. Ride a bike! Walk there! If you are driving, plan on parking somewhere nearby and walking a block or two to the show.

Saturday, April 29th – The 8th Annual Polish Hill May Day Parade!

All are welcome to join in for Polish Hill’s 8th Annual May Day Parade!
The theme this year is “Metamorphic Movements.”

Think…The change of form and structure due to heat and pressure.
Imagine…New paths and movements for all creatures and elements.
Be creative with your interpretation!

To join in the parade, meet up at the dead-end of lower Melwood Street at noon (just down from Pittsburgh Filmmakers.) Feel free to dress up, bring floats, banners, flowers, umbrellas….anything that feels celebratory and in the spirit of workers rights and the rites of spring. And most importantly bring yourself and your loved ones!
At 1pm the Parade will move up from lower Melwood and through Polish Hill, ending at West Penn Park for a community BBQ and pick up baseball game!
